Who We Are


carolina_foto Carolina Toapanta is the Executive Director of the Ceiba Foundation in Ecuador. She oversees in-country conservation projects, volunteer program, establishes partnerships with local and national governments as well as other non-profits, and raises funds for Ceiba and its projects.


paty_foto2 Paty Proaño is the Projects Assistant in Quito. She provides support in seeking grants for all of Ceiba’s environmental conservation projects and also helps in the office with logistics of the conservation projects and volunteer program.


Photo Unavailable Andrés Martínez is from Portoviejo, the capital of the Manabí province. He is the Facilities Manager and the reserve’s cook. He coordinates the food service and lodging together with Vicko.


luis_foto Luis Fernández is the Science and Volunteer Coordinator. He is from Trujillo, Spain. He oversees the various research projects in the reserve, develops new ones, and coordinates and works day to day with our volunteers and interns.


Yasi Rezai Yasi Rezai is the Administrator in the US. She oversees the day-to-day office operations, manages the volunteer program, promotes Ceiba’s courses, and supports grant-writing efforts.
